Remembering my mom

Today my mom went to Heaven
God carried her there
The cancer had made her so weak
I was sad to see her life end so soon
But happy because she was no longer in pain

Many people cried because she is gone
My tears were happy for today she begins
Her Eternal Life

Gods amazing mercy was not just for my mom
But for the entire world
He sent His only son
As payment for our sins

You can have Eternal Life too
You can't earn it
You can't buy it
All you have to do is accept it

This is why I cry happy tears
I accepted God's gift too
And someday when I die
I'll get to Heaven
And I will see her again

Cullen Family Christmas Letter

Greetings to all our family and friends,

Merry Christmas to each of you near and far. If you are reading this, welcome to our family website. I have had it up and running since 2006. Each year, I get requests for pictures and news of our family. So if you want to know what is going on you will have to visit our site here on blogger.com.

Our family has had a wonderful year. God has blessed our growing bustling home.

Kirsten is 13 yrs old now. A full fledged teenager and I am proud to say that she has grown into a beautiful young lady. Mom enjoys many a close mother daughter conversation. Kirsten spends a great deal of father daughter time riding dad's Harley Davidson Firefighter Road King motorcycle and assisting dad on photography shoots. Kirsten shot her first photojournalist shoot when she covered an awards ceremony the fire department was giving. Her picture appeared in the local community paper. She babysits for mom and dad and we actually got to get out on a date for the first time in years. Kirsten loves homeschooling and enjoys delving into many a classical tale. She has been study a korean martial arts form called kyuki-do for three years now and is two belts away from testing for her black belt. She competed in jujitsu and forms this fall and won 2nd in jujitsu and 4th place in forms. In addition to her studies at home, she enjoys talking to her friends on facebook.com so look her up and friend her.

Brooke is 7 yrs old and is in 3rd grade. My little warrior princess also studies kyuki-do and has the best little roundhouse kick in the class. She loves to read and has jumped right into reading unabridged classics as well. Fortunately, she received a lovely copy of Black Beauty from Nana Sandy and Grandad John and went right to town reading that. She enjoys a challenge and bristles whenever someone says she's too young. She tells them right back that she is plenty old enough. Brooke also competed this fall in sparring, forms and jujitsu. Winning 4th, 3rd, and 4th places. She cooks up a storm and made me my birthday breakfast this year.

Connor is 4yrs old and has started homeschooling and kyuki-do like his sisters. He loves being a part of the big kid club. He has taken a liking to playing with legos, dressing up to hunt and shoot meat for moms table, or his favorite... bike riding.

Joshua is now 3 yrs old and has graduated from all things baby. He is not the baby of the siblings in the least and can often be found to have the loudest most commanding voice. He enjoys jumping on the trampoline and riding his bike. Although he hasn't taken any kyuki-do lessons you can see him on the side of the class imitating his brother and sisters. His ki-hap(yell) is still the loudest.

Momma Laura has been busy this year growing her square foot garden, schooling the children at home, canning the garden surplus, sewing, baking, attending self-defense classes, and having a ton of fun. I can't imagine my life could be any better. I'm busy wrangling my four children who each own a leadership personality. To add to my fun, I decided to do something for myself and have been starting to lift weights at home and gasp, I actually joined in the children's kyuki-do classes. I was the only mom to start out with my first few classes, but a short time later another couple of moms who also have children in the homeschool kyuki-do class joined me. Now that we aren't as green as we once were, the moms and I have moved to the adult noon kyuki-do classes. We get quite a good workout in and the Cullen clan spends 4 hours 3 times a week practicing our martial arts forms.

Michael has been busy working at the fire department(his main job), shooting many weddings, family pictures(his hobby job), and still teaches a few classes at the college. He found some time to join me taking kyuki-do lessons so we can stay at the same rank. We sure get some healthy exercise at class. Mike found time to also enjoy his Harley passion. Though the weather was cooler this year he did get out to ride and the family did a fair amount of camping.

All the pictures are online of our fun times. I try to upload pictures weekly to stay in touch with our family.

Look us up on facebook.com, and friend us so we can continue to stay in touch. Its free!
